Most information on the web regarding baby showers is traditional for a pregnant mommy but can be incorporated and customized for any new mommy. An adoption baby shower can be run the same way.

A welcome party for the new baby is always fun where the baby shower centers around the welcome home of the new baby/child. It is important to check in with the new parents that are adopting if they need a little time (few days/weeks) prior to the baby shower. A baby shower can be held in honor of the new little one as the mommy and/or daddy-to-be will still need baby supplies and other items which help new parents.

You can play most of the same baby shower games with our favorite being the baby bingo game where you take the presents and number them. For each present chosen to open by the parents-to-be, a number on the bingo card is marked that coincides with the numbered present that is randomly selected. The one who wins, gets a small prize. It is also great to give the new parents gift cards as everyone can always use a target, wallmart or baby store card!
