LONG DISTANCE
BABY SHOWER
It
seems we are receiving a lot of requests for what to do when you cannot
attend a baby shower or the mommy-to-be lives far away from everyone. A
great idea is to send a "baby shower in a box" where you can have a long
distance baby shower. Take a look at the following baby shower gift in a
box ideas to make any long distance baby shower a major success:
1) Video Conference or Conference
Call by Phone: Have everyone get on a conference call (if possible) or
their video phone (if only a few people). Give everyone a set time or
different times if you don't have the technology to conference in. You
can also create an email chat session for everyone to participate.
2) Have everyone send their
baby
shower gifts to the mommy-to-be's house (or where the baby shower is
being held). Have the mommy-to-be open up each gift with everyone on the
line and let everyone know what she received.
3) In the Baby Shower gift box,
place the following items:
a.
Baby Shower Decorations
b. Come up with a cute
baby
shower theme and get items that relate to the theme.
c. Baby Shower Centerpiece for the
mommy-to-be's table
d. Have everyone write a word of
advice for the new parents and prepare a cute book with all of them
to read.
e. Play a
baby
shower game as there are many that can be played by phone.
f. Make some baby shower sweets for
the mommy-to-be or order in
food
for her and the daddy-to-be.
g. Have everyone on the phone tell a
funny baby story about themselves or have the grandmother and
grandmother-in-law to be tell some cute stories.
h. Offer a cute gift like a
newborn care
video which will help the new parent's to be reduce stress.
i. Have the mommy to be have the
daddy-to-be or a friend take video or pictures of the baby shower
event and share with others.
4) Create a
blog or a facebook
page for the baby shower so baby shower guests can share their stories,
fun while on the phone or see after pictures.
5) Have as many baby shower guests
participate as much as possible so the mommy-to-be still has an amazing
baby shower, even if she cannot have everyone physically present.
We hope these baby shower ideas can help
those of you who are far away, whether you are overseas, out of town or
have relocated. Just make sure to have the mommy-to-be feel the support
as new parents need it, especially when friends and family are so far
away! Email us some other baby shower ideas for a long distance baby
