It is usually planed by a friend or family member and all close friends/families should be invited. It is also common to have a few showers if the groups of friends and family are large or in different circles of acquaintances.

Bring in baby shower games since it livens up any shower. Sprinkle them up throughout the event since it will keep everyone's attention.

Make sure to introduce everyone and possibly even bring in an ice-breaker so everyone feels comfortable and enjoys their time. Maybe even makes a new friend!

Showers usually last a few hours. Don't make it too long or too short. Ask the mommy-to-be on her preference in time, date and venue if possible.

Make sure you watch food allergies when planning the food and drink. Also make sure to keep it light and not heavy so people are tired from starchy foods. Bring in the mommy-to-be's favorite kid foods which makes it fun!
