I come from Europe where there are no baby showers, so this is new to me. Some of my colleagues are planning a little baby shower for me and I don't have more details besides the list of people coming. It will be for lunch in a casual restaurant, we should not be very many (around 10-12 people). I expect this to be a simple baby shower (no balloons, games etc.). I'm all the more excited about this baby shower that I don't have any family nor close friends near me.
My question is: what are the rules and etiquette for that kind of baby shower, should I pay a drink to everyone at the restaurant or do something else to show my appreciation? On the other hand I don't want to over do it. Your comments and tips are greatly appreciated!

Treat yourself as their guest! They've offered.... let them know this is your first one, just be honest. I wouldn't offer to pay for anything except your own meal at the restaurant. They will probably refuse your offer.

Important: be sure to send thank you notes or make a phone call to each person who attended. This is etiquette and will help you reach out to others. Since you are far from family, you may want to keep in touch with these people to ask advice or if you need a friend to talk to.

I hope this helps.
