I try to implement items that are in need of re-cycling to help on overall cost. For example: cardboard, poster board, clothes that can be cut up for youfabric & craft pieces from thrift stores (some offer 5$ bag day's) it can be any theme you want from boy to girl, cammo to frou-frou, even fur & safari (animal print). suggestions for John Deere Pink are: take a pic., of a tractor (enlarge or decrease & trace or use a free hand drawing for a pattern) cut 2 pieces out of cardboard & paint w/ the colors you are working with whether it be John Deere green or pink. Place 2 sm., boxes between the tractor cut outs (one between the engine & one between the back tires using hot glue & paper metal brads). This allows support for the tractor pcs., & a place to put travel sz., baby items, plants, food, mints, peanuts, etc... I also use a dow rod for the steering column w/ poster board cut out steering wheel thumbtacked or glued on end of the dow rod. I make wagons out of (newly purchased pizza boxes -from local pizzeria & remove the top -(saving it for tire cutouts-then tape or glue pizza box to hold shape).Proceed to paint. gllitter, sequin, or leave simple & use dow rod for handle & tire axles (just tape the dow underneath the pizza box & poke thru cardboard tire cutouts). These wagons are cute behind the tractors w/ craft store hay bales too, or placed on the serving table for food items. I have also purchased used baby, kid, & adult cowboy boots from thrift stores (cleaned them well then spray painted them the color of choice (sometimes adding a light coat of spray glue then sprinkling on glitter). you can place plastic vases inside of the boots for fresh flowers, small rocks tied in netting placed inside of the boots for weight so that you can attach balloon bouquets to either the rock netting itself or the boot pull on tab at top of boot & add flowers. You can also make barns out of cardboard & place green tulle netting around them for the look of grass. Vivian what did you do for your Grandson's John Deere baby shower ?
