I took a round cake board and glued a white lace dollie over it. I purchased baby shower items such as bottles, carriages, blocks, etc. along with minature baby products (power, shampoo, etc.) and arranged them to the dollie and glued them in place. Adorned with pink/blue ribbon streamers throughout them. It turned out beautifully!

Also, for the "clothes pin" game, my young granddaughters and I spent an afternoon decorating the wooden clothespins with sparkling minature craft hearts, flowers, circles etc. We also glued a magnetic strip to the back of the clothespins. Our guests were able to take the clothespins home with them to use on their refrigerators as "clips" to hold notes, etc. They were an adorable, usuable souvenir of the shower not to mention the valuable time I got to spend with my young granddaughters!

Recently I had to plan a baby shower and I really needed a great center piece that would just be the perfect finishing touch. A close friend of mine told me her daughter was starting to make diaper cakes with a twist. The twist was she made these three tier cakes that was hollow in the middle, with a fabric pouch, and she filled the inside with all baby accessories. I purchased one that she customized just for me and it was the talk of the shower, of course the mother-to-be was still the spotlight but everyone could not get enough of the cake center piece. If you are interested in one of these cakes please please please e-mail JBL272@aol.com and her name is Lee Marie.

here is what i came up with for mine..

I'm gonna make the favors, which are lollipops(the flat kind) with stickers on them announcing the baby shower.. and then I will use these as center pieces by getting small flower pots and stuffing the bottoms with that Styrofoam fake flower stuff.. and then sticking the lollipops in that.. I will spread some fake grass(the kind in easter baskets or gift baskets) and add a few fake flowers.. and voila.. cute center pieces that look like bouquets.. but have another purpose.. and it also provides a unique way to distribute your favors!!

I'm presently planning a large, fun, relatively inexpensive baby shower for my Daughter, Daddy,& Baby "Hunter" due April 8th. I will be covering cardboard boxes of different sizes with fabric, paint, posterboard, & or wrapping paper in order to make choo-choo train center pieces. I'm using dow rods for the axles & cut out, covered cardboard, dbl.,thickness for the wheels. Boxes can be any size to fit table or area used in. I will be filling train cars with baby items they can keep. I'm also covering flatter shaped boxes w/ same as above to look like "lil wagons" with dow rod handles to fill with baby items, plants, flowers,or food on serving table. Also covering boxes to look like "Baby Building Blocks" that will spell out "HUNTER" & theme word's. I'm presently shopping thrift stores for clothing that can be cut up for scrap fabric whether it be cammo,John Deere,etc...or if it's for a girl you might shop for sequin's,feather's,bling-bling etc...to help re-cycle & keep costs down. (will be using these items to cover boxes). Also plan to cover different size boxes (wrapped & ribboned like gift's - but empty & weighted) to tie balloon bouquet's to-these will be placed around the room in groups & stacks of 3-7 (large, med,& sm)great color & space filler. Hope you have as much fun with this as we are. JUST LET YOUR IMAGINATION FLOW !

I was at a baby shower once and they just got different stuffed animals and tied balloones to them. It was very cute and simple.

A fun idea for centerpieces that can be reused! My friend is using Winne the Pooh as a theme for the baby's room. I found cute Pooh-Bear coffee mugs. I will be adding flowers to the mugs and then the 'winner
of the centerpiece can use the mug!

At my last baby shower, I took a baby bath tub and placed the punch in it and floated rubber ducks in it. Later, we cleaned the bath tub and gave it to the mom-to-be.

i just created out of cookie cutters bubble wonds and took bubbles and put cute paper around them. You could take and put them in the middle of the table. take how ever many people to each table and place the wonds in the bucket like a flower arrangement. then place the bubbles at each place setting and on the the bottles you could use baby bottles filled with bubbles and put a label of who evers shower it is. with like date and name of the persons shower you can use boy or girl colors which ever you choose. they have all kinds of cookie cutters you can use. if you would like I can custom make the cookie cutter bubble wonds and dot eh bubbles for you let me know you can email me at shaw21@sbcglobal.net they are a really big hit and everyone loves them. the last shower i did was little ducks. very inexpensive but cute and different

Go to diaperzoo.com you will be amazed. They can pre-make them too if you don't have time to make yourself.

For a rubber ducky themed shower, we took low, glass bowls and put clear glass pebbles on the bottom. We added a few drops of blue food coloring to the water and floated rubber ducks and daisies.

what about flower pens in a bucket... so it looks like a bouquet of flowers? and then each guest can take a flower pen home. you can also get those magnetic fridge pads and put them around the bucket for each guest to take one home as well. it would act as favors and the centerpiece!!
