For my shower with my first we included a little poem about instead of bringing a card for the mom to be, to bring a book with your name in it instead because cards will just get thrown away and a book will be kept to remember the person. I am now throwing a shower for my cousin and would like to do the same but dont have the little poem any more. Does anyone here have it or know where to get it?
Thanks

Although cards are nice with their sentiment
and prayer,
They're read once or twice then tucked away
with care.
A book is a treasure, words and pictures unite
Read over and over to teach and delight.
So instead of a card for Baby and
mother,
Please give a child's book with your thoughts in the cover.
Your book will be cherished; God will watch from above,
When it's read they will remember your
kindness and love.

We can't wait to see you at the shower
When (mom-to-be's name) will be the woman of the hour
We have one request we hope isn't too hard
Please sign your name to a book instead of a card
Then mom and dad will be ready when the baby arrives
To read to their darling for the rest of their lives
I am the poem lady and I wrote this poem and write personalized poems for baby and bridal showers. Include date the baby is due, whether boy or girl and other pertinent information and I can make a poem for you that can be read aloud to the mom-to-be or the bride at the shower and then framed and given as a gift.

Jill
I love the poem you wrote. I heard about that idea to give a book instead of a card for a baby shower and fell in love with the idea. I am the lucky mother 2 be and I am also writing my own invitations. My family is throwing the shower for me, but I am better at the whole invitation making so I decided to make and send my own. If you know of any poems that I could frame and put in my baby's room please let me know.

Hi Dana,
jill - the poem lady here. Congratulations to you! Feel free to use any of the poems I have written on this board. The ones that people usually frame for the baby's room are the ones that I write personally for the baby using the baby's name (if you have one), the month of expected delivery, the parents' names and the advice to live by that the parents to be want to give their baby from his or her first day of life. The poems are truly very sweet and cherished forever. Check out my website for more information or you can email me to request one. All the best to you.

Hi - here's a quick poem I put together from some ideas I found on the web.
Just one last request, and we hope it's not hard
Please bring baby a book in place of a card
By signing your book, we will remember and share
Your special gift, even when you're not there!

I came up with the following for a baby shower. It sort of rhymes, but not really...but cute anyway.
A book is a treasure you keep forever....
A wishing well may be traditional, but I'm changing things a bit.
I'm asking you to be kind enough to bring a book instead.
Please make sure to put your name inside the cover,
along with a little message that I can read over and over.
This way, whenever mom and dad read me a story,
I can think about the special person who gave the book to me.

I am planning my sister-in-law's baby shower and rather then a wishing well and am setting up a bookcase for people to place their favorite children's book in. When I send out the invitations I am also attaching a blank bookmark for people to write down whatever they want....an inspirational word, favorite quote, or little message to the baby to place inside the book. I would GREATLY appreciate a clever little poem to add to the shower invitation!!!
Please Help!!!!

To the poem lady:
I'm handing out 2x3 frames as favors for my baby shower. I want to write a little poem also stating that a picture will follow. Do you have any ideas you can offer me? Please help! Thanks!

I am looking for a poem for me (grandmother) to give with hand made gift for baby. I have knitted two blankets because I remember how much I treasured the ones my mother made for my children. I made these blankets and I never knitted before.
