I'm expecting triplets and won't be able to travel to our home town for a shower. Is it ok to ask for gift cards only without sounding tacky or rude?

I've seen this done for an out-of-the-area MTB: Everyone arrived at the party with an unwrapped gift. (MTB was not in attendance.) The host had plenty of brown paper and supplies (or bring your own) and after showing off the gifts, they were packaged for mailing. They had all the normal games and goodies. The whole thing was video taped and photographed and sent to the MTB with the gifts.

yes, it is ok. Gift cards are the best in this case and like this you can buy what you really need for your 3 babies.
