I am having a baby shower and already have TONS of books because my husband and I are both teachers. I was thinking of the idea of bringing a baby product (lotion, shampoo, soap, desatin, bath "stuff" etc...) all those little things for the baby and people can sign their names to the "product." BUT, I would really like a good poem to put in the invitations. Any ideas?
Thanks!

jill - the poem lady here. Happy to help you out Carrie. I never heard of this idea before, but it sounds like a good one. Keep us posted as to how it turns out. I wrote this poem for you- I hope it is what you are looking for.

Please join us in welcoming the new little one
With good friends and food it'll be lots of fun
If all brought a baby product it would be really swell
We'll try to fill up the whole wishing well
Shampoo for her hair or Desitin is first rate
Lotions and soap would also be great
You can sign the item with a permanent pen
Each time it’s used, she’ll think of you again
They’ll be so excited, if this advice you do heed
When their little girl arrives, they’ll have all that they need
How great it will be to have their odds and ends
Contributed with love by all of their friends
Good times and laughter is what we will share
Carrie will be thrilled to see you all there

Hi Poem Lady,

A few years back i had a baby shower poem that was a part of a game. It was all about things you need for a new baby. Like Huggies, Dreft, Pampers. The object of the game was to place the 20 or so baby products on a covered table, then give 3 minutes for the guest to write down as many as they could. After a winner is picked, the poem is read and the products are give to the mother to be as a gift. Do you have any idea what I am talking about? Do you have a poem like this?

Thanks,
Mimi

Hi Poem Lady!

Help!!! :)

I need a little help with a cute poem for my baby shower invitations. The theme is "Snug as a Bug in a Rug", or just "Snug as a Bug". It's my first baby and I'm naming her Chayse. The shower is in June and the baby is expected in early July. I hope you can help. Thank you in advance!

jill - the poem lady here. Nean I saw your request regarding snug as a bug - you can use language in your invitation re: Given your heartstrings a tug or something like this:

Please join us for Nean's baby shower
Let's make her feel like the woman of the hour
We'll wish her good health with a kiss and a hug
At this June get together themed "Snug as a Bug"

Best of luck to you. Please let me know if you are interested in a customized poem for the shower from the baby-to-be that can be framed and hung in the baby's room. If so, I need 2 weeks notice as I have been swamped recently.

Jessica,

jill - the poem lady here. I think your friendship warrants a poem that is about 24 lines and unique to her. I am unable to post one here without getting more details about your friend. If you order a poem through the site I can get you it in the next 2 weeks. For now, I can give you a few ideas if you would like to create your own.

As we grew up you were like a sister
And stood by your side as you married your mister
Now you have been blessed with a gift like none other
And I'll be by your side to watch you become a new mother

All the best to you and your friend,

Hello. I was wondering if anyone has heard of filling a basket with baby items and a poem that goes with it to give to the mommy-to-be? I went to a bridal shower and they did one for the bride-to-be. It was really neat. Thank you in advance..

Please help Jill!

~ I loved your poem for the baby advice box! I'm having trouble re-arranging the words. If you could help out that would be great! The parent's names are Allison and Justin and they are having a baby girl in April, named Leah.
Thanks =)

Hi,

I'm co-throwing a baby shower for my best friend who had her first child last year and it was a boy. now she is having a girl. her theme is lady bugs, with black, white and red colors. She hates pink and everything ihave found for a poem has pink in it in some way. The baby girls name is going to be Lela Mae, with a due date of october 28, 2010. Do you have anything already that has "bug" or "ladybug" or something in ti for a girl? I can't seem to find anything

Thanks
Kelli

Hi Kelli,

jill - the poem lady here. I have done a poem that included snug as a bug, but not ladybug. I would be happy to do a customized one for you if you are interested. Please let me know.
