I work as a exec assistant for a woman who is hosting a shower at her home for her neice. I have done all the planning, decorations, even the cake, but was not invited to the shower. The neice works for our company so I know her but we are not close. Am I obligated to send a gift? My boss paid for the cake ingredients, but not for my time making it and the party planning and decorating was all done on company time.
