Hi all,
My best friend is expecting her first soon... several of our friends have already had kids, so she is getting tons of clothes and furniture. I sent an email telling people gifts were optional, due to the fact that they already have a lot, but what they really need is a nice stroller. So the plan is to ask for contributions for one nice gift, if friends would like to do something for the expectant parents.
Does anyone have any ideas for how to handle it? We have friends who are pulling in six figures a year and friends who are getting by with a lot less. I'd like to ask people to contribute what they feel comfortable with, but I don't want people who contribute more to feel slighted. I also am wondering if people will need a suggested donation.
Just wondering if anyone had any experience with this type of situation.
